THE ROOSEVELT HOTEL NYC
I always used to wonder why Billie Joel could love a city like New York so much that he would write a song about it. This week I finally got my answer. I have been living in a New York State of Mind now for the past five days for NYFW and it has been an absolute dream. Let’s just say, I came, I saw, I conquered. Normally, when I visit New York, I look for hotels that are central, classic, hip, and have a lot of character. This time around, I found all of those distinctive qualities in the marvelous Roosevelt Hotel NYC. As my train pulled into Grand Central Station, I was eager to check out the majestic establishment (it is located only a block away from the station). It sits on the corner of East 45th street and Madison Ave so you are central to everything and, best of all, you are only a few blocks away from fabulous 5th avenue. I waltzed up to the front and felt like I was in the movie, Breakfast At Tiffany’s. Flags decorate the beautiful entrance and the building stands tall, hovering over with 1,025 rooms in total (52 of which are suites). You are greeted by the friendliest doorman ever to grace the doors of a New York City High Rise. His name is Bernard and he is a staple of the hotel (he is the gentlemen pictured above that was playing around with me). He actually wrote a book that chronicles his life working as a doorman in New York City for over a decade called “The Revolving Door”. The Lobby
As you walk through the twirling golden doors and stroll up the sprawling staircase, the lobby welcomes you with a warm embrace. I couldn’t seem to take my eyes off of the dazzling chandelier that hangs above for all to see while men in business suits chatter below. Everything from the carpets to the wall decor felt historically elegant and it resembles the era of the 1920s. There’s a cocktail bar that sits on the side of the lobby where guests can grab a drink and a few snacks. The entire bar is made of rustic mahogany wood which adds to that old New York classic feel. There is ample seating in both the lobby and the bar and it’s so fabulous, people sit for hours admiring the interior beauty of the hotel. You have to see it to believe it.
I stayed in the Ambassador Suite and it was definitely spacious. The hotel offers both regular standard rooms as well as suites.

The Rooms
There are plenty of options when it comes to accommodations in this fabulous establishment. They offer a comfortable room with a Queen size bed, perfect if you’re opting to travel solo or even with your partner. If you’re needing more space for you and your significant other, you may want to book a Superior King Room. Both options are perfect for a weekend getaway or a long holiday stay. If you intend on traveling with a few friends, the Superior Double Room is perfect and can host up to four people easily. For those who love their own space with a friend or partner, book the Deluxe King Room which will give you ample room for you and a guest to feel like home. If you want to get the full experience of luxury at The Roosevelt Hotel, you should splurge for any one of their amazing suites. You can’t go wrong with any of them and they are the epitome of style and class. I stayed in the Ambassador Suite during my stay and it was superb to say the least. In the pictures above, you can see that the rooms have great views of the bustling city and come equipped with High Definition TV’s, High Speed Wireless Internet ($20 a day), amazing bath products, and custom climate control. They do offer Room Service but it is valid for breakfast only. If you decide to reserve a suite they come with a spacious bathroom, a kitchen with a microwave, a clock radio with an iPhone dock, as well as many other luxury amenities. No matter where you choose to lay your head, you will be in a relaxing and cozy environment.

Fun Facts about The Roosevelt NYC
The hotel originally opened on September 22, 1924 making it over 90 years old! Since it’s inception, it has been a famous staple on the Manhattan Skyline and this exquisite property has remained a New York City icon . It is also an entertainment industry legend, used as a filming location for many well-known movies including The Boiler Room, Wall Street, Maid in Manhattan, Men in Black 3, Man on a Ledge, and The Dictator. So cool! Another addition I have to mention is the fact that you don’t have to roam the mean streets of NYC to find a delicious meal. Inside the hotel, there are three places that you can grab some grub without even leaving. There is the Madison Lounge (the bar in the lobby where you can grab a drink and some snacks), the Roosevelt Grill (the breakfast restaurant), and the new Grab and Go (located at the top of the stairs). There is also a restaurant located next to the hotel called The Vander Bar that is a pretty cool place to check out. It has a gastropub vibe and serves dishes such as sliders, smoked brisket nachos, and an oven baked pretzel. You can view the menu HERE.
