The Flower Fields have officially opened!
Spring has officially sprung! (Well maybe not yet but in California it has!) This past weekend marked the opening weekend of the spectacular Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch (San Diego) and it was my first time driving down there to see them! What a sight! The flower fields are located in Carlsbad, the northern most tip of San Diego, and it takes about two full hours to commute there from Los Angeles. These fields experience anywhere between 100,000-200,000 people per year. It was a rather dismal day when we arrived but the rain didn’t stop us from wandering around the fields. To be brutally honest, the flowers are only partially blooming right now so we didn’t get to see the entire property covered. (If you are planning to go, head down there in late March) They’re are so many cute events and activities planned this spring, it’s a fun place to head for the entire family. You can view the schedule of events HERE. Tractors will take you on a tour of the grounds or you can meander around like we did. They have a variety of flowers there including petunias, sweet pea blossoms, orchids, and rananuculus.
Wonderfact: You can’t roam in between the flowers because it is a privately owned ranch and they want to preserve the blooms as best as they can. Admission is not free but tickets are around $20 each. Worth every penny!
The Artists Garden
A section of the fields is known as “The Artists Garden.” Step into a world of color that illustrates how flowers can be used in gardens at home. When you walk inside this area, you feel like you stepped into a beautiful painting. One of my favorite parts of the field, we shot some of my favorite spring looks here! Check it out below :)
