The Jim Henson Exhibition: Imagination Unlimited!
"As children, we all live in a world of imagination, of fantasy, and for some of us that world of make believe continues into adulthood."- The late great Jim Henson. Anyone who knows me can verify that I may be one of the world's biggest muppet fanatics. As a child, with my sisters, I grew up watching the muppets on the silver screen. In fact, one of my all time favorite movies, is "Muppets Take Manhattan". In many ways, Kermit the Frog is Jim Henson. With his subversive humor and restless curiousity, he sees the world in a beautiful way with a calming nature. When I heard there was a Jim Henson exhibit in Los Angeles, I was there in a heartbeat. The exhibit is called"The Jim Henson Exhibition: Imagination Unlimited" and is located at the Skirball Cultural Arts center. It runs through September 2018.

WONDERING: WHAT TO LEARN AT THE EXHIBIT
- Jim Henson developed characters and used different performance methods that was used as the foundation of his work.
- He created commercials and films using a group of puppets
- He worked on Sesame Street and help create the characters we know and love today.
- He performed as the characters Kermit the Frog and Ernie from the dynamic duo, Bert and Ernie.
- He made a few movies with the muppets including, "Muppets take Manhattan", "The Labyrinth" and "The Dark Crystal"
- Jim Henson died in 1990 of an unknown viral disease but even long after his passing, many people around the world regard him as one of the most creative individuals to ever live. His memory is kept alive through his work.
