Wedding Day Advice from a Newlywed!

May has finally arrived! The flowers are in full bloom, the snow has almost melted away, and we have officially entered wedding season. Being a newlywed myself, (I got married this past August in Ojai, California), I can't help but think about what all Brides-To-Be are going through right now. Altering dresses, getting your final counts of the guest list, and Trying (with a capital T) to stay under budget (Sorry Dad). With that being said,  I wanted to share some of my personal advice to all the future brides that was given to me on my wedding day. Honestly, these tips are simple but powerful and will help you stay cool, calm, and relaxed on the most magical day of your life.

WONDERING: TIPS ON HOW TO HAVE THE MOST WONDERFUL WEDDING DAY!

  1. REMEMBER TO EAT!- I know this may sound silly but many brides (including myself) are so nervous when the day comes that we forget to eat! It's so important to eat throughout the day, having a big breakfast and a small lunch (depending on the time your ceremony starts). My Go-To item throughout my big day was a Fruit Smoothie because it was cooling and filling, especially since I added protein.
  2. HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE!- This is for all those brides who are having their ceremony outdoors. Be sure to hydrate! I got married in the peak of August in my heavy dress and I had to hydrate every 20 minutes because it was so hot! Keep a spray bottle filled with water next to you and spray on your neck and body if you get hot. Drink tons of water!
  3. REMEMBER IT IS YOUR DAY! ENJOY EVERY MINUTE OF IT!- Your wedding day goes by so quickly, you'll blink and before you know it, it will be over. Be sure to take a moment before walking down the aisle and breathe it all in. I took a big breath before walking down and I'm telling you my anxiety finally settled. I didn't want to miss a beat!
  4. DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF!- If something goes wrong or unexpected, let it go. You will worry about that one particular incident your whole day instead of enjoying all the planning and effort that went into it. And TRUST ME, you won't want to miss out on a thing!
