Creepin it Real...My love for the Halloween Season!
Fall is my absolute favorite time of year (mainly because I’m the biggest Halloween fan) but also it’s a season that brings change and pumpkin spiced lattes :) Even though LA doesn’t have the changing of the colors of the leaves we still have some of the greatest pumpkin patches in the US. For this week’s shoot, I found myself wandering around one of my favorite pumpkin patches in LA, Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch in Culver City, and it reminded me of my childhood. Growing up, I would always carve pumpkins with my family and every year my father would take us trick or treating. I always loved to play dress up as a child (which probably spawned my love for the theater and acting) and when it was devils’ night in the neighborhood, I would cause my own sort of mischief with the other neighboring children (smoke bombs anyone?) On Halloween night, post trick or treating, I would come home with my sisters and we would dump out our candy bags, and compare to see who got the best candy that year (we were always in competition with each other). I vividly remember we used pillow cases as Halloween bags which actually came in handy! My father, being that little sneaky thief that he was, would sneak into our rooms and check our bags and steal his favorite candy, thinking we wouldn’t notice (we always did). As you can see, this holiday brings out some of my most fondest childhood memories, and it will always remain my favorite holiday! What is your favorite holiday and why? WonderFact: I always throw an annual Halloween bash and this year marks my 8th annual celebration!
